I have been to Petit Paris many times and have never been disappointed. The food is always good and the staff always highly effective. I recommend the lunchtime menu or pre-theatre meals which are a bargain at £9.95 for 2 courses or £11.95 for 3 courses. I also like the fact that there always seem to be some French waiters or waitresses as well as the same restaurant manager (is he the owner not sure? although I am pretty sure he is italian or he looks it). Of course this is not a michelin star restaurant but all in all it provides good value for money.

I have been to Tarn Thai twice for a business meal and have been disappointed in both occasions. The food is actually quite good but I have been disappointed with the service. The first time was on a monday night and on that occasion me and my guest (5 of us) were told that we could not have any sweets as the kitchen was closed. It was only 10pm and you could really see that the staff wanted to go home. The bright lights came on and the staff just stood near our table staring at us clearly wanting us to leave as quickly as possible. Having been a waiter myself in the past for over 15 years I was just amazed at how rude this was. The second time was on a Thursday night and the same thing happened whereby we had our meal from a set menu but again could not have any sweets with the kitchen closed again at 10pm as usual. The same tricks were used to make us feel unwanted and wanting to leave as quickly as possible, This time I was determined not to leave early but was told If I could pay the bill as the restaurant was closing. It was only 10:30pm which on a Thursday night in september really amazed me. Clearly these people are in the wrong business or should only open at lunchtime. Good food but don't go in the evening. Please somebody let me know what the sweets are like!!!!
